The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders formed the Economic Development Advisory Committee with membership including the Freeholders, the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Investment Board, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, the Morris County Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce, the County College of Morris, the Morris County School of Technology and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation.
The mission of the Economic Development Advisory Committee is to supply the Board of Chosen Freeholders with current information on economic matters as they affect the County of Morris and to make periodic recommendations of their findings.
The origin of the committee is the Freeholders' effort to reach out to businesses and have face to face meetings with CEO's and top executives of the largest employers in Morris County. This group will take that information and through open discussions find out what resources are available to help Morris County businesses thrive.
The meetings are held quarterly and are open to the public, so no private business information will be discussed at these meetings. .
The Morris County Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit partnership of government, businesses and allies dedicated to growing the economy of Morris County, New Jersey through aggressive and effective programs and services that result in business attraction, creation, retention, expansion and transition.
